Kate Hansen, D.C., Owner of Essentials

Dr. Kate Hansen is a 2004 honor graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic, located in the Twin Cities. Prior to enrolling in chiropractic college, she attended Wartburg College, where she earned a Bachelor's degree and graduated with honors in Biology.

Interested in whole body health and wellness, Dr. Hansen continued her professional education in acupuncture. She has passed the national board exam for acupuncture and holds acupuncture certification in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Nebraska.

Dr. Hansen has practiced chiropractic and acupuncture since 2004. She began in St. Paul, Minnesota as an associate doctor of chiropractic and then spent almost four years as the co-owner of The Chiropractors at Four Hills in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She has most recently relocated to Omaha with her husband and two children and is excited to be leading the Essentials team as owner of Essentials Natural Family Health since January 2010.

Her passion is empowering and educating patients (especially pregnant women) how to take their health into their own hands through natural healing of the mind, body, and spirit. Dr. Hansen feels so fortunate to have two beautiful children, a daughter named Hadley and a son named Duncan. Because of both of her empowering pregnancy and natural childbirth experiences, Dr. Hansen is especially interested in helping women have happy, healthy, and pain-free pregnancies.

Nicole Laska, D.C.

Dr. Nicole is a 2013 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. While at Palmer, Dr. Nicole had extensive training under a Pediatric & Pregnancy specialist, providing chiropractic care for many expecting mothers and pediatric patients. Thanks to this extensive training, She became very passionate about providing chiropractic care to expecting mothers and families by assisting them in achieving their overall wellness. Dr. Nicole is Webster certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is currently working on her Pediatric and Perinatal Certification with them. During practice, she has witnessed many mothers experience an easier pregnancy, as well as delivery, many babies being able to more easily feed, sleep, and poop, and children being able to focus more easily, being sick less often, and being able to return to or perform better in sports.

When Dr. Nicole was a teenager, she experienced some very intense headaches that were interrupting her focus and decreasing her activeness. She visited doctors and tried many things, but nothing worked. Then she tried Chiropractor and she felt a change in the intensity and frequency in which she was experiencing headaches. Even though she didn't understand what was happening, she continued with chiropractic care and eventually her headaches resolved completely.

Dr. Nicole was incredibly thankful that she was able to regain her health via the natural methods of chiropractic. The results she experienced really resonated with her beliefs of how her body should function. Ultimately thanks to her personal experiences, Dr. Nicole feels she was called to be a Chiropractor so that she could help others maintain their health and well-being naturally. During chiropractic school, Dr. Nicole learned how the body works and heals itself via the nervous system. Dr. Nicole strives to help others understand how their bodies work and to make sure that their body's nervous system is functioning at its best capacity. Dr. Nicole is excited to be here in Omaha helping the community through chiropractic care! She is excited to start working with you to achieve your health goals!

Molly Matthes, D.C.

Dr. Matthes is originally from Falls City, NE. After High School she attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Then, went on to Palmer College of Chiropractic School in Davenport, Iowa.

She has enjoyed practicing in the Omaha Metro since 2007. She was introduced to Chiropractic when she was going through some stomach pains in college. After a few Chiropractic Adjustments the stomach pains amazingly went away. She loves getting to know her patients and being able to sit down with them and figure out what care would be best for them. Her adjusting techniques include Diversified, Thompson Technique, Gonsted, soft tissue/trigger point therapy, Activator, and McKenzie Protocol (Physical Therapy/stretches).

When she's not working she enjoys spending time with her family, 2 dogs (Peanut and Olive) and friends. She really likes watching and attending sporting events (especially Husker football and volleyball, Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, and the Golden State Warriors) boating, gardening, riding her Scooter/Moped around town, and traveling.

Chrisitne Rollman, D.C.

Dr. Christine Rollman is a 2002 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport IA. She grew up on a small farm in Northeast NE, and she is the middle of five children. She was a four year letter winner in three sports throughout high school and played softball every summer since the age of 12. She graduated from University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bio-psychology degree and was also a member of the UNK Women's Softball team while in Kearney.
 
Dr. Rollman's chiropractic career has taken her to Chicago, Phoenix, Townsville, QLD Australia, and back home to Nebraska. She has one 13-year-old son, and he has been adjusted since he was 2 days old.
 
An injury in her senior year of high school turned her to chiropractic. It was the only treatment that helped her find relief from the pain in her lower back and legs and it is why she chose to become a chiropractor. Dr. Rollman believes in the power of healing within the body.
 
Dr. Rollman is Webster Technique Certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). She utilizes multiple techniques of chiropractic depending on the patient needs. Dr. Rollman believes chiropractic is for everyone at any time, whether in pain or for general maintenance. It turns the power of the body on and allows us to be our best.

Amber Chohon, D.C, CAACP

Amber Chohon, D.C, CAACP

Dr. Amber Chohon graduated valedictorian from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in February of 2012. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Biochemistry. She was born and raised in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Dr. Amber has completed over 200 hours of post-doctorate education in pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic care. She received her certification in pediatric proficiency, CACCP (Certification from the Academy of Family Practice and Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics), in March of 2013 through the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association (ICPA). She is also certified in Webster Technique, which is used in caring for pregnant women.

Dr. Amber became interested in biology and how the human body works in high school. She always knew she wanted to be in a profession where she could help people live happier, healthier lives. When she talked to a friend that was planning on attending chiropractic school, it called to her. She realized that with an adjustment, she could actually do something natural to help people! Although she loves caring for kids and pregnant moms, she is happy to work with people at all stages of life. She strives to give her patients the best care possible and continues to further her education in order to do that.

Her husband, Nathan, is an avid whitetail deer hunter. They married in June of 2007. They welcomed their first beautiful daughter, Kayda, in May of 2014 with an amazing home birth. She joined the Essentials team in August of 2015.She welcomed her second beautiful daughter, Maylie, in December of 2016, also with a memorable home birth. She became Certified in Acupuncture in January of 2017. Dr. Amber enjoys cooking, taking care of her dog, Paysley, and spending time with family and friends. She is an advocate of breastfeeding, natural pregnancy, informed birth, babywearing, cloth diapers, making choices that support our bodies, and healing naturally! Jessica Johnson Zortman, D.C

Jessica Johnson Zortman, D.C

Dr. Jessica Johnson Zortman was born and raised in in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and attended Briar Cliff University for her bachelor's degree in Biology. She moved to Bloomington, Minnesota and attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic and graduate in 2007. In March 2008, she married her high school sweetheart on their tenth anniversary.

While her husband's military service may have brought her to Omaha, she is very excited to be a part of this wonderful city. She has been practicing in Omaha since moving here during her last term of chiropractic school and happily joined the Essentials Team in May of 2015.

She enjoys the amazing potential that chiropractic care offers people for healing and living a healthier life and is thankful that she can assist her patients in that process.

In her spare time, she spends time with her family, her bulldog, and her friends. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and doing home projects.

Hannah Beran, D.C.

Dr. Hannah Beran graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park, Kansas in April 2016. She grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska and completed her undergraduate studies at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with minors in Biology and Spanish.

Dr. Beran moved to Omaha, Nebraska and joined the Essentials team immediately following graduation in May 2016. She is honored to serve the families of the Papillion, Bellevue and surrounding communities and wants to empower them to take control of their health. She loves working with children and pregnant moms and is happy to see patients at all stages of life.

Dr. Beran is Webster Technique Certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). She is currently pursuing her certification in pediatric proficiency, also through the ICPA. She is trained in kinesiology taping and a number of soft tissue techniques. Dr. Beran completed 100 hours of training to earn her acupuncture certification in January 2017. She loves utilizing a holistic approach to healthcare in order to help her patients achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Prior to the completion of her chiropractic degree, Dr. Beran went on a mission trip to Haiti and Dominican Republic and provided free chiropractic care to the poorest areas of these countries. This life changing experience helped her grow as a person and as a healthcare professional.

In her spare time, Dr. Beran enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending concerts and sporting events, golfing, and reading. She is excited to be back in Nebraska and a part of the Essentials family. She looks forward to helping her patients feel better and live happier, healthier lives!

Amy Mick, D.C.

Dr. Mick was born in Ohio, but grew up in the Midwest, living in North Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska. She started her undergraduate studies at Metro Community College and transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa to finish her Chiropractic degree as well as a Bachelors in Science in February 2017. She will be starting her training in Prenatal and pediatric care in October through the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association) and finishing it in the beginning of 2019.

Dr. Mick married her Husband, Jake, in 2013. In her spare time, she spends time with her husband and 2 Dachshunds. They love going on walks and hikes. Both her husband and Dr. Mick are car enthusiast and love going to car events in the community. They also love being outdoors as much as they can, whether it be in the garden or just hanging out with friends.

Dr. Mick is excited to join Essentials team and work with pregnant woman and children. As well as helping families to feel better and live a healthier more natural lifestyle!
